123Flamenco Academy

Welcome to 123flamenco.com, the home of Manchester‐based flamenco guitarist and teacher Nick Wilkinson.

Having studied flamenco guitar at Rotterdams Conservatorium in the 1990s under the guidance of one of the world's finest players, Paco Peña, I am excited to offer you the opportunity to embark on a similar journey of musical development through online lessons via Zoom.

At 123flamenco.com, you will find a variety of flamenco courses available, with detailed descriptions accessible from the drop‐down menu at the top of the page.

Future courses are designed to appeal to a wide range of people, including dance students and aficionados eager to deepen their knowledge of flamenco. Please check back periodically to see when new courses become available. For all enquiries email: nick@123flamenco.com

Bulerías falseta by Paco Serrano

Here is one of the falsetas I learned from Paco Serrano in Rotterdam many years ago. This is an example of the type of material you are likely to encounter towards the end of the Foundation Course.

After many years of trying and failing to learn flamenco guitar from books and videos, I recently started online lessons with Nick Wilkinson. The experience has been transformational: I have learnt more, and progressed further, in four months with Nick than I did in the preceding four years. I was a little concerned that I would find online tuition difficult, but Nick makes it idiot‐proof, and provides excellent video and printed teaching materials to support consolidation between lessons. His expertise and background (Nick studied under Paco Pena at the Conservatory of Rotterdam) were evident from the very first session, and become more obvious and valuable with each lesson. Highly recommended for anybody wishing to study this complex and beautiful form of music.
